Yangon premiere of Burma Storybook – opening night film of HRHDIFF Festival

Opening Night at HRHDIFF Film Festival. We bring Burma Storybook back home – to a packed Waziyar Cinema with 800 people in attendance.

Cleaning the cinema before the screening….

And rebuilding the stage in Waziyar Cinema – a historical landmark that is alas now only used twice a year….

Poet Maung Aung Pwint – the main character of our film – and his wife Daw Nyunt Shwe arrive for the screening…

88 Generation icon activist Jimmy introduces our film to a packed audience…

Thukhamein Hlaing reads three poems to a cheering audience….

Followed by Aung Cheimt – whose rendition of I’m a Poet – brought the audience to their feet…..(you can read this poem in our book…..)

Corinne presents our Burma Storybook BOOK after the screening….

Petr gives the first copy of our book to poet Maung Aung Pwint…

And calling Daw Nyunt Shwe on stage to thank her and Maung Aung Pwint – who alas was not well enough to come on stage himself.

An evening we will never forget…
